This was an OUTSTANDING read. Truly. I knew the moment I read the title that I was going to love it, the post itself did not disappoint. Black women have been the architects of every meaningful social movement in this country and white people have responded by either co-opting the movement or actively working against it. I don't understand how it isn't embarrassing at this point. Imagine someone got close to you, then they rob you. A little later down the road, they end up getting robbed, and then called you to help them out. Insanity.

No, thank you! Not only for the perspective, and the words, but for the work that went into them. You took a very complex concept (for some) and put it into an easy to follow, no-nonsense, informational but engaging read. Which I’m sure you know 🖤 I could type a million more compliments but instead I’ll just share and hope that more people get the pleasure to read. Stay blessed.

Someone here on Substack wrote that "Black women are NOT America's Mammy". Stop looking for us to continually drag you out of the messes you keep finding yourselves in because of your piss poor choices and racism. WE ARE NOT COMING!

Brilliantly written! -This is exactly what I wish for the American people to understand and act upon.

I am deeply concerned about the American media output. One the one hand you have the venemous propaganda machine, bases on fabricated, lies aimed a poisoning the minds of as many American people as possible. Yes, that's at FOX - I will not write "news", because it's not journalism. It's propaganda straight out of Russia and many of you know it.

On the other hand, unfortunately not at all counterbalancing FOX, is what... something that fact checks a bit and tells us something relevant here and there. NBC seems kind of independant, but I haven't found your independant press yet... Has any media started to report about protests and resistance yet?

Can we agree that Monique Judge has a valid point when she urges you to get up and get going and not wait for someone else to come fix it? For example; How helpful is it to discuss what democrats should have done, instead of what they did, when Al Green protested? How is complaining about that going to save your country?

Division is what any oppressor thrives on. Unity and solidarity on the other hand. that scares the crap out of them...

Be active, be inspired - STAND TOGETHER!

I wish you all the best, dear allies! Love and courage from Denmark

No one is calling for Kamala Harris to fix shit. I voted for Harris and am disappointed she appears to be nowhere except my in box asking for money. I would like her to speak out not because she owes me anything but because of the way she was reaching so many people through her campaign. I don’t think anyone is shy about calling out Clinton, Bush, and Obama to do more. People trusted her and stood up for her and would like the same back. I won’t make the mistake of voting for her again. Too many women of color doing the work now like AOC.

Standing up to Trump is not her job or her responsibility. We don’t actually know what she’s doing behind closed doors but she sure as hell deserves to rest and be out of the spotlight for a minute. She didn’t win because we didn’t garner enough votes for her (well, I think it was rigged but still). SHE HAS NOT FAILED.

While I agree with you in theory, I have too many questions about the integrity of the 2024 election. I feel that KH conceded way too fast. The irregularities in the swing states are stunning and should have been addressed straightaway in November 2024.

Amen to that! I hope she’s armpits-deep in whatever tropical drink is her preference, blissfully dozing poolside on a remote island somewhere. The woman has been fighting her whole life—she doesn’t owe anybody a damn thing.

Thank you for writing this excellent article!! This message really needs to get out there as I’ve seen a number of posts and publications circling that enact misogynoir towards Kamala expecting her to keep doing more when she’s already given so much. She deserves to rest. As you aptly said, she doesn’t owe people — especially white people like myself — shit!!!
